Shaken in More Ways Than One

When we came to Haiti to do eye care and minister to the kids and everything I did not have visions of rows of dead bodies and mortally wounded kids in mind. But today God chose to allow us to be in places I never dreamed I would have to go. So many people in shock and dying still in the streets. We went to the areas of Port Au Prince that were hardest hit today to find the family members of some friends. By God's grace only one family member had been lost but she is the mother of seven children. One of the thousands of stories we heard today of families that lost someone in a collapsed building. Some areas the homes were all crushed as far as you could see. As soon as we have better internet we will upload some photos from our make shift clinics we set up and of the devastation.

For now we just want everyone to know that we are okay and that we will be doing all we can to reach out to the perishing in love and compassion. Keep us in your prayers and we will do our best to keep everyone updated. Thank you to everyone that has partnered with us to make it possible for us to be here to help during this time.

We've been praying for your family's protection; that the Lord will use you in wonderful ways to minister and share Christ with those around you; and we pray the people of Haiti will receive healing, assistance and deliverance. In Jesus' name.

Kerry our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Please let us know what you all need and what is the best way to get it to you all. What was the name of the school Julie was working in? Was this in Port au Prince? Her children are so concerned for her and we are just crushed because we have not heard anything about her at all. Please let us know and what about the Pastor's daughter who lived in Port-au-Prince? Please keep us informed as you are able and let us know exactly how to help. We are in prayer but want to be the hands of Jesus right now to you all and to Haiti. We want to know how any of our friends are doing that we have met in Haiti.

I'm glad that you have a chance to update your blog and send out emails to your church Kerry, about what you've been doing to help the earthquake victims, and it's great that you're able to help them in such a horrible tragedy. However, it is a shame that Logan & Marilyn's family is here at home worried sick about them, not even knowing that Logan has been sick with a fever and intestinal problems. No one has bothered to contact the loved ones here, they have to hear second hand from your church people and blog whats going on. I know Jody, Buck, Luke, Regina, Jessica, Kyle & I would like to know FIRSTHAND from Marilyn or Logan how they are and when they'll be able to return home. Please email us at either jodyallenrogers@yahoo.com or brogers428@hotmail.com and let us know whats going on. Thank you.

I am hoping that you have looked for Julie Wirries on Delmas 31. You mentioned that you have gone into Port au Prince and found family members/friends. Did you find her? Please let her family know.

Please tell me when you went to Port au Prince you looked for my Sister Julie wirries! This is a women that took her time from her Family to care for and love your children and help the family in any way possible even to move to Haiti to start your mission there! So now all I ask is you take just a little of your time to try to find something out for us that have heard nothing and are hurting deeply.

Kerry, Joy & Family - you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot imagine the devastation and hopelessness these people feel. I praise God for you and all you are doing to restore hope and to show what faith in our Heavenly Father can do to change their lives. Just know so many of us are praying daily for the Haitian people and for everyone's safety and protection. Love you guys so much!

to my dear family I just want you guys to know that we love you dearly. We are so proud of you guys. We also know that god is in control and although we are very anxious to hear from you guys. We know that you are safe and that is the most important thing. thankfully we have e-mail so weve all been able to keep in contact. Eventhough you guys are sick we know that god will take care of you. I know everyone is worrying and freaking out but they need to chill because that is so selfish the main thing is that yall are ok and safe. I love you guys so much. Talk to you later.

All I can say is that if anyone has anything negative to say about this family you need to go re-examime yourself spiritually. They are doing NOTHING but the work of the lord. They are precious people who will do anything for anybody. Just like when they moved Julie into their home and let her live with them. They do nothing but help people who need them. I am not sure very many people can say they've ever opened their home to someone who needed it. So although you guys are worried its very understandable that you have frustration. My suggestion would be to open the god book and read a few verses in there you will find peace. But just so you know they are looking for Julie. I can imagine that haiti is a mess right now it will take time and patience.

Joy and Family,
This is Madex's (Jeska's son) family. We are keeping you in our prayers and thoughts. If you could please give a message to Phillip. I just realized today when Third Creek Baptist Church (in Stony Point, NC) asked for prayer for Phillip saying that he was in Haiti with a missionary group. Then my mom said that Jeska had talked about a Phillip being with you. Please tell him his cousins, Patricia, Adrienne and Ernest Jr. Scott are lifting him up at this time as well. We are so proud of him for becoming the man of God he is. May God continue to bless and keep you in His loving care.

Love,
Adrienne Scott
